BPJN Sumbar ensures that the Twin Bridge is fully functional during Eid al-Fitr
PADANG - The West Sumatra National Road Implementation Office (BPJN) ensures that the Twin Bridge located at the border of Padang Panjang City does not experience a decrease in post-disaster conditions at the end of 2025 and will function completely on H-10 to H+10 Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah.
"Currently only one bridge is functional, but the work on the right side of the hole is complete, so later in H-10 to H+10 it will be functional for both," said Head of BPJN West Sumatra Elsa Putra Friandi in Padang City, Saturday, March 7, reported by ANTARA.
Elsa ensured that the tools used for the repair of the bridge would be immediately moved. The goal is that during the homecoming and return flow, both bridges can be passed by drivers without any obstacles.
In general, he said, what needs to be secured by the parties concerned is only the sides of the bridge from the river's rush, while for the condition of the bridge it actually does not experience a decrease.
"For traffic, it can be passed by four-wheeled vehicles. Then for trucks such as fuel oil carriers, they will follow the Governor's Decree (SK)," he said.
Based on the BPJN check, in terms of structure, the bridge can actually be passed by vehicles with a weight in accordance with national road regulations, namely a maximum of 10-ton Axle Load (MST 10).
In addition, he also touched on the stability of the road body around the Anai Valley Area after the disaster, until now BPJN is still focusing on strengthening the road body itself.
He said all points had been repaired and then the holes in the road body would be closed. The target is July 2026 there will be no more potholes.
Finally, BPJN will deploy heavy equipment so that the team can immediately move quickly in the field if a landslide occurs considering the Anai Valley area is in a hilly area.
