President Director Of UMMI Hospital Demanded 2 Years In Prison For Hoax Result Of Swab Rizieq Shihab

JAKARTA - The defendant in the case of the UMMI hospital swab test results, Dr. Andi Tatat, was sentenced to 2 years in prison. Andi Tatat is considered to have participated in spreading information or false news about Rizieq Shihab's condition who was exposed to COVID-19.

"Imposing criminal sanctions against the defendant Dr. Andi Tatat for 2 years with an order to remain in detention," said the prosecutor at the trial at the East Jakarta District Court, Thursday, June 3.

The decision on this claim is based on aggravating and mitigating considerations. For incriminating matters, the defendant, who is a doctor as well as the President Director of RS UMMI Bogor, is considered non-compliant with the law.

According to the prosecutor's actions, the defendant's actions also gave rise to pros and cons. Thus, causing unrest in the community.

"The mitigating thing is that the defendant is considered to be able to behave well in the future," said the prosecutor.

In addition, referring to the testimony of the witness and the defendant's expert, Dr. Andi Tatat, it was stated legally and convincingly in violation of Article 14 paragraph (1) of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 1 of 1946 concerning the Criminal Law Regulations Jo Article 55 paragraph (1) 1 of the Criminal Code.

"Demanding that the panel of judges hearing this case declare the defendant Dr. Andi Tatat legally and convincingly guilty for participating in spreading false news," said the prosecutor.

For information, Rizieq Shihab was sentenced to 6 years in prison in the case of a swab test result at the UMMI Hospital. Meanwhile, Hanif Alatas was sentenced to 2 years in prison.

Both of them are considered to have legally and convincingly committed a violation of spreading false news about Rizieq Shihab's health condition.
