Cianjur Regency Government Bans Government Vehicles to Be Used During Eid
Cianjur Regency Government, West Java, prohibits government vehicles or red plate vehicles from being used during the 2026 Eid homecoming. Strict sanctions will be given to officials who violate the rules.
Cianjur Regent Mohammad Wahyu Ferdian said that government vehicles were state facilities intended to support the implementation of official duties, so they should not be used for personal purposes including homecoming.
"We prohibit officials in the Cianjur Regency who are given official vehicles from using these facilities to return home during the Eid, in accordance with the provisions and directions of the central government regarding the use of official vehicles," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, March 6.
He explained that when there was no urgent official duty, the official vehicle should not be used for personal interests, including homecoming and others, so his party asked ASN to maintain discipline by not abusing state facilities.
When there are officials or ASN who are stubborn in using official vehicles for the Eid homecoming, they will be subject to sanctions ranging from reprimands, coaching, and administrative sanctions.
"We want all government officials to set a good example for the community, if someone is naughty, it means disciplinary violations, we will follow up in accordance with the provisions of the ASN discipline in force," he said. His party emphasized that all ASN who are trusted to hold official vehicles must comply with all prohibitions, especially during the Eid homecoming by not using official vehicles because most of them have personal vehicles.
The public can report when they find out that a government vehicle is being used during the 2026 Eid homecoming, so that his party will give sanctions according to the rules for those who violate it.
"Please use private vehicles for ASN or officials when returning home for Eid, I emphasize that they should not be violated because strict sanctions will be imposed," he said.
