Hamstring Injury, Ronaldo is Expected to be Absent for 2-4 Weeks

JAKARTA - Al-Nassr star Cristiano Ronaldo is expected to be sidelined for two to four weeks after suffering a hamstring injury.

As reported by ANTARA, the injury was suffered by the player after appearing in the Al-Nassr match against Al-Feiha at the King Salman Sport City Stadium on Sunday (1/3).

Al-Nassr did not reveal when Ronaldo would return to play, but Tribuna's report on Friday (6/3) said Ronaldo's recovery is expected to take between two to four weeks.

If the estimate is correct, then the Portuguese player has the potential to miss a number of important matches with the club and the Portuguese national team.

Meanwhile, Al-Nassr coach Jorge Jesus said the 41-year-old would undergo rehabilitation in Spain.

Ronaldo's absence also raised doubts about his participation in Portugal's two friendly matches at the end of March.

Portugal are scheduled to face Mexico on March 29, before taking on the United States on April 1.

Al Nassr itself has confirmed that Ronaldo has started an injury recovery program and his condition will continue to be monitored daily by the club's medical team.

Before suffering the injury, Ronaldo appeared for 81 minutes in the match against Al-Feiha before being replaced by Abdullah Al Hamddan.

In the match, CR7 also failed to take advantage of the opportunity from the penalty spot in the 11th minute after his kick went wide of the opponent's goal.

Even without Ronaldo's goal contribution, Al-Nassr still managed to secure a 3-1 victory over Al-Feiha.

The result makes the team nicknamed Al-Aalami still perched at the top of the Saudi Pro League standings with 61 points.

Ronaldo's absence will certainly be a challenge for Al Nassr, considering he is the team's captain and top scorer this season.
