Ahead of Eid 2026, the Government Guarantees Stable Prices and Supply of Basic Needs

JAKARTA - The Minister of Trade (Mendag) guarantees the stabilization of prices and the supply of basic necessities ahead of Eid al-Fitr or Lebaran 2026. He said his party would monitor prices and supplies through the basic needs market monitoring system (SP2KP).

"We have SP2KP yes and we see that almost every day prices are relatively stable and supplies are also guaranteed," said Budi when met in Jakarta, Friday, March 6.

Budi said that in addition to monitoring through SP2KP, his party also routinely monitors prices directly at traditional markets.

For example, continued Budi, the price of beef in modern retail was recorded at around Rp. 140,000 per kilogram (kg). According to him, this price is below the Maximum Reference Price (HET) set by the government.

"After we saw that the prices of goods were quite good, most of them were still below HET or close to HET," he said.

Budi also emphasized that the public did not need to worry because the government guaranteed the stabilization of prices and the supply of basic necessities.

"So there is no need to worry, the government will guarantee the stabilization of prices and the supply of basic necessities, especially ahead of Eid," he said.
