Ramadan Runway 2026 Presents a Variety of Muslim Fashion Trends Ahead of Eid
JAKARTA - Ramadan is not only synonymous with worship and the tradition of breaking the fast together, but also an important momentum for the fashion industry, especially Muslim clothing.
Every year, various collections of modest fashion emerge to meet the needs of people who want to look neat and elegant during Ramadan until Eid al-Fitr.
The atmosphere was also felt in the 2026 Ramadan Runway event which was held again at the Grand Atrium, Ground Floor, Kota Kasablanka, Jakarta. This annual event, the result of collaboration between the Indonesian Fashion Designer Association (APPMI) Jakarta and Kota Kasablanka, was officially opened on Friday, March 6, 2026.
This year, Ramadan Runway carries the theme "Blooming Ramadan" which depicts the atmosphere of the holy month like spring filled with blooming flowers. The nuances are visible from the main stage decoration to the exhibition area which is decorated with flower ornaments and bright colors, creating a warm and festive atmosphere for visitors.
The Chairman of the APPMI Jakarta, Dana Duriyatna, explained that the theme was chosen to describe Ramadan as a moment of growth and beauty, both spiritually and creatively.
"Ramadan Runway is held every year as an effort to encourage the creative economy sector, especially the local fashion industry, through continuous creative exploration, education, and promotion," he said.
Ramadan Runway 2026 lasts for almost a month, from March 5 to 29, 2026, and involves more than 60 designers and around 80 local tenants. Activities are centered in a number of areas of Kota Kasablanka, such as the Grand Atrium, Mosaic Walk, and Fashion Atrium.
APPMI Chairman, Poppy Dharsono, said the development of modest fashion in Indonesia has been the association's concern for more than three decades.
The effort started from the introduction of Muslim fashion trends to later develop into various promotional and fashion shows such as Ramadan Runway.
According to him, Indonesia has great potential to become a center for modest fashion because of the richness of local culture which can be combined with modern Muslim fashion designs.
"The combination of Muslim fashion with local wisdom of the Nusantara creates a unique character that has a selling value in the global market," said Poppy.
The diversity of inspiration is reflected in the collection displayed by the designers, including Abeey by Ariy Arka, Bella Hasura, Clue, Defrico Audy, Dimas Mahendra, Erdan, Jeny Tjahyawati, Koyko, Kunce Manduapessy, Leny Rafael, Malik Moestaram, Musa Widyatmodjo, Nanie Rachmat, Nieta Hidayani, Poppy Dharsono, Rryn House, Tutyadib, Wina Sadikin, Yoyo Prasetyo, and Yuni Pohan.
In addition to fashion shows and fashion product exhibitions, Ramadan Runway also presents various other activities that visitors can participate in. Some of them are hijab styling workshops, makeup classes for Eid, Lebaran fashion mix and match sessions, to fitness activities before Eid.
There are also a number of other programs such as a search model, Evofabric Competition in collaboration with SFA, a spiritual and mindfulness session with Syakir Daulay, to creative installations and interactive experiences for visitors.
General Manager of Kota Kasablanka, Agung Gunawan, said this year was the 14th Ramadan Runway and a continuation of collaboration with APPMI in providing an appreciation space for fashion industry players.
"Through this event, we want to present Ramadan and Eid style inspiration for visitors while supporting the development of the Indonesian fashion industry," he said.
The series of events was also enlivened by various entertainment performances from a number of musicians and performers, including Fabio Asher, Maria Calista, Swara Jakarta 80's, Marvin Teguh, Ihsan Tarore, Rimar, Terry Shahab, Moluccan Soul, Sam Hasibuan, Duo Percussion, to Nabila Taqiyyah.
