AFF U-17 Cup Draw Results: Indonesia Grouped with Malaysia and Vietnam

JAKARTA - The AFF U-17 Cup draw for 2026 has been completed with a result that is quite challenging for the Indonesian U-17 National Team. From the draw, the Garuda Muda squad is in the hell group.

In the agenda which took place in Jakarta on Friday, March 6, 2026, afternoon WIB, the draw results showed that Garuda Muda had to face Malaysia, Timor Leste, and Vietnam in the 2026 AFF U-17 Cup.

With the status of host, Indonesia U-17 automatically in Group A. In this group, they will compete for the semi-final ticket by finishing in the top two.

In the 17th edition of the AFF U-17 Cup, Garuda Muda is targeting the title. The reason is, from the five opportunities to host, their team managed to win the title twice.

The last time Indonesia U-17 won in the 2022 edition when the tournament was still competing in the U-16 category. The most champions were held by Thailand, Vietnam, and Australia with three times each.

The AFF U-17 Cup 2026 agenda is also a debut moment for Kurniawan Dwi Yulianto as head coach. Previously, the position of coach was held by Nova Arianto while undergoing a trial match.

The 2026 AFF U-17 Cup is planned to be held in two cities, namely Sidoarjo and Gresik, using the Gelora Delta Stadium and Joko Samudro on April 11-23, 2026.
