Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Reveals the Secret to Not Being Hungry During Fasting
JAKARTA - Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin revealed tips for sahur so that satiety can last longer. According to him, just add a glass of milk during sahur, the stomach can feel full for longer while fasting. He conveyed this through his personal Instagram account.
He said many people closed sahur just by drinking water. The Minister of Health suggested that this habit should be changed by adding one important drink, namely milk.
"Who is the ritual of his morning meal closed just by drinking water? Starting tomorrow, try adding this one type of mandatory drink. It's called milk," he said, quoted from the upload of the @bgsadikin Instagram account.
However, the Minister of Health also reminded that the selection of milk should not be done randomly.
"Make sure you choose 100% fresh milk and look for plain milk, alias without added flavor or sugar," he said.
According to him, the main reason for milk is recommended is because of its high protein content.
"This protein is the master to inhibit the time of emptying the stomach. As a result, your stomach will feel full much longer when fasting during the day. But note well, for those of you who have sensitive stomachs or lactose intolerance, drink it just enough, don't overdo it," added the Minister of Health.
At the end of his message, the Minister of Health also reminded that the sahur menu should not be dominated by high-carbohydrate foods. Instead, he suggested increasing protein intake so that energy can last longer during fasting.
