Viral Zig-Zag Action on Becakayu Toll Road, Police Identify Five Car Drivers

JAKARTA - The action of a number of cars that perform zig-zag maneuvers on the Bekasi - Cawang - Kampung Melayu Toll Road (Becakayu), East Jakarta, went viral on social media. Currently, the drivers of the cars are being sought by the police.

The dangerous action was uploaded by the Instagram account @dashcamindonesia. In the circulating video, five cars can be seen driving with zig-zag maneuvers in the middle of a relatively quiet toll road.

"Dangerous actions on the highway were again recorded by the residents' cameras. A number of four-wheeled vehicles were caught in a convoy with a zigzag or zigzag style on the Becakayu Toll Road, the Kalimalang area, East Jakarta," wrote the narrative in the video.

When confirmed, the Head of the Traffic Police, AKBP Reiki Indra Brata Manggala, said his party had identified the vehicles involved through CCTV cameras.

"We have identified the vehicle through CCTV and we have obtained the data according to the registered police number," said Reiki when contacted, Friday, March 6, 2026.

Reiki said that his party would visit the car drivers to give them a warning.

"We will give verbal reprimands and provide educational guidance to the driver," he said.

Reiki hopes that similar actions will not be repeated because they have the potential to endanger other road users.

"Our hope is that this incident will not happen again, because it can interfere with the comfort of other road users," he concluded.
