Like to linger while bathing? Experts say it's a sign that people are not happy

JAKARTA - Are you one of those people who like to linger while taking a bath? If so, then you need to be careful because a research conducted by researchers at Yale University shows that people who like to linger in the bathroom actually feel unhappy with their lives.

Quoted from Lifehack, Friday, March 6, research shows that the longer and more often a person showers, the more likely that person is to feel lonely and unhappy.

"The lonelier a person is, the more often they shower...", said John Bargh, PhD., one of the researchers. Bargh concluded that people who like to linger in the bathroom to clean themselves actually also set aside time to daydream.

They tend to think about problems or just let their minds wander for a moment. Well, according to Bargh, the more often someone daydreams and contemplates, the more this indicates that the person is unhappy.

According to psychologists from Harvard University, Matthew Killingsworth and Daniel Gilbert, mental focus affects a person's happiness. If a person is unhappy then most of the thoughts will not be in sync with what they are doing.

This is reinforced by an article published in Scientific America. When people think or daydream without implementing it in the real world, it will make them feel more depressed and disappointed. The realm of daydreaming becomes a place to escape from reality. While the problems and unpleasant situations that must be faced remain unresolved.

This is in contrast to people who take a short shower. Basically, people like this have focused and directed minds. For them, the shower routine should be done efficiently. They don't feel the need to take a long shower because they are satisfied with the social conditions they have.
