The Charm of the Mediterranean Coast Comes to the Heart of Jakarta through "Mediterranean Escape"
JAKARTA - Jakarta now has a new visual destination that brings the warmth of the Mediterranean coastal summer to the middle of the city's hustle and bustle. Starting March 3 to April 5, 2026, the Senayan City atrium will be transformed into an immersive installation titled Mediterranean Escape. Carrying the concept of "TUMI on Vacation", this public space is designed to provide a calming sensory experience for visitors.
This installation takes architectural inspiration from villas in Greece, complete with minimalist white walls, sculptural curves, and iconic Aegean blue accents. The use of natural textured materials such as terracotta and limestone further reinforces the impression of a warm modern sanctuary under the light exposure.
Design and Exploration Philosophy Victor Sanz, Creative Director of TUMI, explained that the concept of this season is an effort to take a moment's distance from the dynamics of everyday life. The design presented focuses on the essence of freedom to explore, where the beauty of the Mediterranean nature is translated into seasonal color palettes such as thyme green, sun-washed terracotta, and sunlit yellow.
These colors are not only present in the decoration elements, but also become the main breath in the latest product line exhibited, such as the 19 Degree and Voyageur series. This collection also explores many summer woven textures and raffia motifs that are compatible with the atmosphere of the Santorini cliffs.
Interactive Space and Multisensory Experience More than just a product exhibition, this area offers various interactive zones that blur the boundaries between indoor and outdoor spaces. One of the main points is the 'pool deck' installation equipped with blue mosaic tiles and sun loungers, creating an authentic holiday atmosphere.
To complement the visitor's experience, there are various interesting activations at certain times, including:
Signature Drinks Bar: Serving fresh drinks such as orange lemon rosemary mocktail which is designed to awaken the senses through the aroma of the coast.
Nail Art Corner: Nail art service with thematic motifs such as lemon and olive branches.
Poolside Bar Area: A rustic social interaction space with warm rattan details.
The presence of this pop-up is a reminder of the importance of moments of pause and connection through travel. For Jakarta residents who miss the atmosphere of a vacation, this installation offers a short escape that is both aesthetic and inspiring until early April.
