For this reason, the Minister of Industry encourages the growth of IKM Muslim products, strengthens Indonesia's image as an important player in the world's halal industry, and supports Indonesia's efforts to become the largest halal product producer in the world.
The Director General of Small, Medium and Multifarious Industries (IKMA) of the Ministry of Industry, Gati Wibawaningsih, said that the public's need for halal-labeled products and services is increasing, along with increasing awareness of the quality, safety and health of the products consumed.
According to Gati, the legitimacy of the global halal product industry market is indeed not only surrounded by Muslim-majority countries, such as Indonesia and Malaysia.
Companies from China, Thailand, the Philippines, Japan, South Korea, and Australia, are also scrambling to produce halal goods.
