MUI invites Ulama and Umara to unite to face the world's turmoil

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) Anwar Iskandar invites all elements of the nation to strengthen unity and increase spiritual efforts in the midst of the ever-evolving global geopolitical and geoeconomic dynamics.

"I think, we understand what our President is doing in carrying out free and active politics. That is, it will not make enemies with any country and anyone, but will multiply friends and friends around the world," Anwar said in a statement reported by ANTARA, Friday, March 6.

In his statement, the Chairman of the MUI conveyed the current international situation which showed conflicts and tensions in various regions of the world which had the potential to have a wider impact.

Therefore, Anwar emphasized the importance of vigilance and efforts to maintain the safety of the nation, state, and the people of Indonesia.

"Furthermore, the most important thing for us is how to save our country, our nation, and our people, and our people. That's the most important thing," said Anwar.

Anwar emphasized the importance of strengthening national unity and invited all components of the nation, including ulama, government, and defense and security officials, to continue to build synergy in maintaining the stability and safety of the nation.

Anwar Iskandar is one of the participants in the Presidential Gathering with the Kiai and Islamic Community Organization Figures at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, on Thursday (5/3).

On this occasion, Anwar also invited the public to increase prayers and draw closer to God, especially in the holy month of Ramadan.

The spiritual effort is considered important as an effort to ask for safety for the nation, leaders, and all Indonesian people to be spared from various disasters that occur in various parts of the world.

"Especially in Ramadan, let's not let the disasters that happen everywhere end up creating a continuous misery that happens here. It is very important for us all to get closer to God. Ask for safety for all of us, for our leaders, for our people, for our country," said Anwar.

Closing his statement, the Chairman of the MUI emphasized that in facing increasingly complex global challenges, the Indonesian nation has no choice but to join hands, close ranks, and maintain unity.

With togetherness and prayer, he hopes that Indonesia will always receive help and protection from God Almighty.
