Harry Kane Injured Betis, Efforts to Break the Bundesliga Record Hit a Stumble

Harry Kane will miss Bayern Munich's match against Borussia Monchengladbach on Saturday, March 7, 2026, early morning WIB, due to a calf injury, which is a major blow to his hopes of breaking the Bundesliga record for the most goals in a season.

Bayern Munich manager Vincent Kompany said on Thursday, March 5, 2026, that the problem was not serious, but meant Kane would not play in the weekend's game, which could have put Die Roten 14 points clear at the top of the table.

"He suffered a blow to his calf and has not recovered. For now it is not serious, but maybe we need another day for him to be able to play."

"We are pretty calm. Of course we want Harry to play, but things like this can happen," Kompany said, as reported by ESPN.

Kompany did not express any concerns that Kane would miss Bayern Munich's visit to Atalanta in next week's Champions League last 16.

Kane has scored 30 goals in the Bundesliga and is just 11 goals shy of Robert Lewandowski's record of 41 goals, with 10 games remaining.
