Iranian Ambassador Refutes US Claims of Missile Launch Down: Active Weapon Production

JAKARTA - The Iranian Ambassador to Indonesia Mohammad Boroujerdi dismissed the issue of weakening Iran's weapons strength by saying that Tehran has a large number of missiles and ammunition along with the activity of conventional weapons production.

"We not only have a large number of missiles and ammunition but at the same time the network of production of conventional weapons in our country is also active," Ambassador Boroujerdi said at a press conference at his residence in Jakarta, Thursday, March 5, reported by ANTARA.

The United States Central Command (CENTCOM), which is responsible for American military activity in the Middle East, said on Wednesday that Iranian missile launches had dropped by 86 percent and drone launches by 73 percent in the past four days.

A Western official previously said the number of Iranian ballistic missile launches had decreased as a result of US and Israeli strikes on launch sites and facilities producing the missiles.

Dismissing the report, Ambassador Boroujerdi said no one knew the number of ammunition or the missile power of other countries, and only the battlefield could determine which side would run out of ammunition first.

"Of course no one knows exactly how powerful the missiles are and how many of them each country has. Only the battlefield will determine who will run out of ammunition ... America just wants to convey its intentions," he continued.

On Saturday (28/2), Israel has launched an attack on Iran, which is the second attack carried out by Israel and the US after the first attack on Iran in June 2025.

US President Donald Trump said American forces launched a major military operation in Iran to protect its people by eliminating the threat he said came from Iran's alleged development of nuclear weapons.

Iran then launched a retaliatory missile attack on Israeli territory and US military facilities in the Middle East. The escalation in the region occurred amid nuclear negotiations in Geneva between the US and Iran mediated by Oman.
