Hasto PDIP's Praise For The Chancellor Of The Defense University: Scientific Orations Strengthening Maritime Axis Intellectuals
JAKARTA - Doctoral student of Defense Strategy at the Defense University (Unhan) Hasto Kristiyanto congratulated and appreciated the inauguration of the title of professor, permanent professor, Defense Science in the field of Defense Sociology to the Chancellor of the Defense University, Vice Admiral TNI Prof. Dr. Amarulla Octavian, ST, M.Sc., DESD, CIQnR, CIQaR, IPU.
"What the Chancellor said in a scientific oration entitled Maritime Society 5.0 and the threat of digital maritime security further strengthens the intellectual foundation on the importance of the Indonesian doctrine of the World Maritime Axis," said Hasto in a written statement in Jakarta, reported by Antara, Thursday, June 3.
In his scientific oration at the Defense University Campus, Sentul, Bogor, said Hasto, Prof. Octavian emphasized a comprehensive picture of national maritime interests, especially in resolving maritime border disputes.
In addition, maintaining sovereignty and usefulness from a defense perspective in the broadest sense of the outer islands, and the application of blue economy principles in the Indonesian marine management system.
"The scientific oration is rooted in the reality of Indonesia as a maritime country dotted with islands, united as a geopolitical unit where all children of the nation should look to the future at sea, the future of the world in the Pacific," said the Secretary General of the PDI-P DPP.
In fighting for maritime interests, Hasto continued, Indonesia cannot ignore social transformation with the occurrence of digitalization, which Trimmel (2017) states that the relationship between humans and computers has reached a level that was previously unimaginable.
"Humans are transformed into homo informaticus," he said.
According to him, the idea of Prof. Octavian in fighting for a blue economy, utilizing maritime resources with digital technology, building a maritime community ecosystem, which is supported by the transformation of maritime higher education, and how to build marine defense capabilities in dealing with various threats such as maritime cyber, is very interesting.
"With this scientific oration, we are all reminded how the sea is the front page that unites the Unitary Republic of Indonesia, the bastion of state sovereignty, and the integrity of the Republic of Indonesia, as well as the future path of a just and prosperous society.
