JAKARTA - The National Police Headquarters has reiterated its commitment to take firm action against any member who is proven to have violated the law and damaged police professionalism. Including in the case of alleged receipt of funds from drug dealers by police in the North Toraja Police, South Sulawesi.
Head of the Public Information Bureau (Karopenmas) of the National Police Public Relations Division, Brigjen Pol Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko said, the National Police Chief had emphasized that any violations committed by members of the National Police would be processed firmly in accordance with applicable rules, both ethically and criminally.
"The National Police Chief is committed that any action that harms the police profession, professional ethics, or the professionalism of members will be taken steps in an appropriate, procedural, ethical and legal manner," Trunoyudo told the media at the Bareskrim building, National Police Headquarters, South Jakarta, Thursday, March 5, 2026.
Regarding the case of alleged receipt of funds from drug dealers by the Head of Narcotics of the North Toraja Police and the Narcotics Officer of the Toraja Police, Trunoyudo said that his handling is currently under the authority of the South Sulawesi Police.
According to him, the South Sulawesi Police has taken steps to handle the case. Meanwhile, the National Police Headquarters continues to provide support and assistance in the handling process.
"Regarding North Toraja, the South Sulawesi Police have taken steps to handle it. Later, the development of the case will be explicitly conveyed by the South Sulawesi Police. The National Police Headquarters provides assistance in the process," he said.
Trunoyudo also emphasized that the National Police had previously confirmed the integrity commitment to all members through the integrity pact, including in handling drug cases.
The integrity pact, said Trunoyudho, is the commitment of every member of the National Police to carry out their duties professionally, protect and serve the community, and enforce the law fairly.
"The National Police has made an integrity pact long before these incidents. The commitment is for each member to carry out their duties professionally, protect, care for, serve the community, and enforce the law fairly," he explained.
He added that violations involving members, especially in the field of drugs, were a serious concern for the National Police institution. Therefore, if proven to have committed violations, firm action will be taken in accordance with the applicable rules.
"When the integrity pact is violated, especially in the field of drugs, this is a matter of concern for us and of course will be taken action decisively," he concluded.
