US Reportedly Considering Military Operation of up to 100 Days against Iran

JAKARTA - The United States is reportedly considering a military operation against Iran that could last at least 100 days or until September

As reported by ANTARA from Sputnik, Thursday, March 5, US War Minister Pete Hegseth previously revised the schedule for military operations against Iran to eight weeks from the previous four to five weeks.

US President Donald Trump previously set a deadline of four to five weeks to complete an attack on Iran, if necessary.

US Central Command (CENTCOM) has requested additional military intelligence officers to its headquarters in Tampa, Florida, to support Iran-related operations, the newspaper said, citing internal Pentagon documents.

The addition of the intelligence personnel indicates the Pentagon is preparing a budget for a prolonged operation and shows the US government underestimated the scale of the conflict, according to the report.

US efforts to increase evacuation resources for Americans in the Middle East and strengthen intelligence gathering forces also indicate that the Trump administration is not fully prepared for a larger conflict with Iran, Politico said.

On Saturday (28/2), the US and Israel launched a series of attacks on a number of targets in Iran, including in Tehran, which caused damage and casualties among civilians. Iran then launched a retaliatory missile attack on Israeli territory and US military facilities in the Middle East.
