MUI Chairman Invited by President Prabowo Bukber, Not Sure to Discuss Middle East Conflict
Jakarta - The Chairman of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) KH Anwar Iskandar was seen at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, Thursday, March 5. He was accompanied by the Minister of ATR/BPN Nusron Wahid, seen entering the gate of the State Palace.
According to Nusron Wahid, President Prabowo has appointed a number of chairmen of Islamic organizations, mubaliq, and the caretaker of large pesantren pondok. Anwar Iskandar said he did not know whether there would be a discussion at the event regarding the current heated Middle East conflict.
However, Anwar is not sure that the discussion will take place because the time is considered too little. Anwar also refused to answer regarding the attitude of the MUI which still wants Indonesia to withdraw from the Board of Peace (BoP).
