Supported by Digital Transactions, BRI's Transaction Banking Grows Impressively
JAKARTA - PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BRI recorded impressive transaction banking performance until December 2025.
BRI President Director Hery Gunardi said that this achievement was supported by the growth of digital transactions in the retail segment, business customers, to the payment ecosystem. This reinforcement emphasizes BRI's ability to manage cross-segment transaction activities, as well as strengthen the funding structure through the strengthening of cheap funds.
"The two strategies that are carried out are the strengthening of cheap funds and increasing capabilities in the field of transaction banking. BRI accelerates CASA growth through the optimization of digital channels (BRImo, BRILink, QRIS) and increasing the penetration of business clusters. Meanwhile, in the retail segment, the strengthening is focused on the development of the BRImo SuperApp and the payment ecosystem," said Hery, Thursday, March 5.
He added that the increase in retail transaction activity on the BRI digital channel was reflected in the growth of users and transactions through BRImo. As of December 2025, BRImo users were recorded at 45.9 million or grew 18.9 percent year-on-year, with transaction values reaching Rp7,076.9 trillion or increased 26.4 percent year-on-year.
Meanwhile, for the medium, commercial and corporate segments, BRI continues to strengthen BRI's transaction banking services for cash management and end-to-end transactions through Qlola.
As of December 2025, Qlola's active users reached 113,000 or grew 48.1 percent year-on-year, in line with sales volume which increased 36.2 percent year-on-year to IDR 13,456 trillion.
The company also continues to expand payment acceptance at merchants. This has an impact on merchant sales volume which increased 48.1 percent year-on-year to Rp223.2 trillion. For BRI QRIS, it also showed a similar trend, with sales volume up 100 percent year-on-year to Rp85.6 trillion,
"Meanwhile, the number of transactions grew 127.5 percent year-on-year to more than 782.8 billion transactions," he said.
Hery added that BRI will continue to develop transaction banking capabilities through strengthening the digital platform to increase business merchant services to support the sustainable growth of cheap funds.
"This achievement confirms that the BRIVolution Reignite transformation being carried out not only strengthens the low-cost fund base, but also expands the digital payment ecosystem that is inclusive for all layers of society," he concluded.
The increase in transactions on digital channels and the payment ecosystem has proven to strengthen the giro and savings fund base, so that the CASA portion is maintained at a high level and the cost of funds improves. Third-party funds grew 7.4 percent year-on-year to IDR 1,467 trillion with a CASA ratio of 70.6 percent, and the cost of fund DPK improved to 2.9 percent compared to 3.1 percent at the end of 2024.
