Bank Security Becomes Victim of Begal Eagle Eye Modus in Kalideres

JAKARTA - A security guard or security officer of a bank became a victim of a begal eagle eye (matel) modus on Jalan Daan Mogot, Kalideres, West Jakarta, on Wednesday morning, March 3, 2026.

The victim, who was on his way to work in the Cisoka area, Tangerang, was suddenly stopped by a group of people who claimed to be debt collectors.

The perpetrators accused the victim's motorcycle of being three months behind on installments. However, the victim insisted that the vehicle's installment had been paid off on February 28, 2026.

Despite having given an explanation, the perpetrators still acted violently. The victim was beaten in the stomach and pushed to fall several times on the side of the road.

In the incident, the perpetrator also took away the victim's motorcycle, mobile phone, cash, and a bag containing important documents such as ID cards and ATM cards.

A video circulating on social media showed the victim in a state of shock with dirty clothes after trying to save himself from the scene.

This incident once again highlights the prevalence of motor vehicle withdrawal by individuals who claim to be debt collectors in an intimidating and violent manner.

Head of Public Relations of Kalideres Police, Aipda Dwi Winardi said the incident was still under investigation, even though the victim had not made an official report to the police.

"It is still in the process of investigation," said Dwi when confirmed by the media, Thursday, March 5, 2026.

He added that the police had urged the victim to immediately report so that the investigation process could be carried out further.

"We have urged them to make a report," he said.
