Baby Boy Found Alive in a Paperbag in Front of SD Tarakanita Kebayoran Baru

JAKARTA - Residents found a baby boy still alive inside a paper bag in the Kramat Pela area, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, Wednesday, March 4, 2826 in the early hours.

Head of Public Relations of South Jakarta Metro Police, Kompol Murodhi, said the baby was found under a tree next to the entrance garden of SD Tarakanita I, Jalan Barito II, Kramat Pela Village, Kebayoran Baru.

"The baby boy was found alive inside a paper bag with baby supplies such as diapers," Murodhi said in his statement, Thursday, March 5, 2026.

Murodhi explained that the first incident was first known at around 04.00 WIB by a teacher with the initials MY who came to school to prepare for teaching and learning activities. When he arrived at the school gate, the witness saw a suspicious item next to the garden.

"MY then called the school security officer to check," he said.

After checking with another witness with the initials SO, the two found a baby wrapped in a flower-patterned blanket.

"After it was found to contain a baby, the witness then reported to the local RW chairman and was forwarded to the Bhabinkamtibmas of Kramat Pela Village," he said.

Police officers from the Kebayoran Baru Police then came to the location at around 05.50 WIB to check the crime scene, documentation, and ask for witness information.

"Then at 06.00 WIB, the baby was taken to the Kebayoran Baru Sub-District Health Center to undergo a medical examination by the on-call doctor," he added.

Murodhi revealed that the baby has now been handed over to the South Jakarta Administration City Social Service for further handling.

In addition, the police are still investigating to find the perpetrator who is suspected of throwing the baby. According to Murodhi, from the surveillance camera (CCTV) footage around the location, a man was seen putting the baby in the location around 03.05 WIB.

"This case is still being handled by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Kebayoran Baru Police to uncover who the perpetrator who left the baby," he concluded. *
