Film Almost 10 Million Viewers, Park Ji Hoon Ready to Comeback as a Singer
JAKARTA - Park Ji Hoon will return as a singer amid the success of his film, The King's Warden which is heading for 10 million viewers in the near future.
Thursday, March 5, YY Entertainment, Park Ji Hoon's agency, announced, "Park Ji Hoon is preparing a solo album with a plan to release it in April."
This album marks his musical work after three years. He last released his seventh mini album titled Blank or Black in April 2023.
Park Ji Hoon is active as a singer after debuting with the group Wanna One. He released several albums and toured Asia several times before venturing into acting.
Park Ji Hoon's acting also received a good response after he played King Danjong in the film The King's Warden. The film received 9 million viewers this week and became the highest-grossing film in South Korea this year.
The King's Warden tells the story of King Danjong (Park Ji Hoon) in the Joseon era. Danjong ascended the throne at the age of 12 and became the youngest king before he was deposed by his own uncle Prince Suyang and exiled to Cheongnyeongpo, Gangwon.
Set in 1457, the film also tells the story of Eom Heung Do (Yoo Hae Jin), a village leader who meets Danjong and begins to build their friendship.
On the other hand, Park Ji Hoon has just finished filming the series The Legend of Kitchen Soldier with Yoon Kyung Ho. This series is scheduled to be released in May.
He was also confirmed to join the latest variety show that brings together other Wanna One members such as Kang Daniel, Lee Dae-hwi, Kim Jae-hwan, Ong Seong-wu, Park Woo-jin, Lai Kuan-lin, Yoon Ji-sung, Hwang Min-hyun, Bae Jin-young, and Ha Sung-woon.
