Indonesia International Jetsport World Series 2026 Followed by 40 Countries

JAKARTA - Indonesia is confirmed to host the 2026 Indonesia International Jetsport World Series, an aquatic sport that will capture the attention of the international world because it is followed by more than 40 countries.

The tournament is scheduled to take place in August 2026 in Ancol, North Jakarta. As many as 300 world-class jet ski athletes and thousands of spectators will be present to watch this very prestigious water racing event.

The Chairman of the Indonesia Jetsport Boating Association (IJBA), Syaiful Sutan Aswar, said that this tournament marked the return of the jetsport sport in Indonesia and also encouraged the birth of new talents of the sport.

"We want to revive the organization of jetsport tournaments in Indonesia, as well as hope that in the future and beyond, the regeneration of new talents will also go well," he said in a press conference in Jakarta.

The presence of this event is more than just a tournament because it strengthens the sports tourism sector, as a means of building Indonesia's image in the eyes of the world, as well as a driver of the creative industry and marine lifestyle.

Syaiful said that this tournament automatically confirmed Indonesia's position as a new force in the development of international jetsport so that it needed an attractive package to build a long-term reputation.

"This is not only attracting athletes, but attracting the world to come to Indonesia. We want people to come because they want to come to Indonesia from the heart. So, hopefully this event can run smoothly," he said.

In terms of infrastructure, the physical venue at Ancol is ready to host this event with a number of technical improvements being carried out. Indonesia still has a few months to go so it can perfect everything.

Director of Limasatu Creative Indonesia, Eka Nugraha Manurung, emphasized that the international event to be held in Indonesia will be different from the last event in 2019 when the euphoria of this sport was still dim.

"So, this year, we will turn Indonesia into a form of a big jetski event. One of them is by exposure in digital media and outdoor media to be able to provide positive input that Indonesia is worthy of hosting," he said.

The Indonesia International Jetsport World Series 2026 will compete in six main classes, namely Pro Ski GP, Pro Am Runabout 1100 Open, Pro Runabout GP, Pro Am Runabout 1100 Stock, Pro Am Runabout Stock, and Pro Am Endurance Open.
