Reason for Lhokseumawe, Rental Car Never Came Back: IRT Turns Out to Be Replaced with Methamphetamine

BANDA ACEH - Personnel from the Operational Unit VI of the Banda Aceh Police Criminal Investigation Unit arrested a housewife with the initials NUR (34) who allegedly embezzled a rental car belonging to a resident, then exchanged it for methamphetamine.

NUR is a resident of Montasik District, Aceh Besar. He was arrested in Gampong Lambhuk, Ulee Kareng District, Banda Aceh. Head of Public Relations of Banda Aceh Police, Iptu Erfan Gustiar confirmed the arrest.

"Yes, the personnel of the Operations Unit of the Banda Aceh Police Criminal Investigation Unit arrested a housewife with the initials NUR yesterday afternoon," said Erfan in Banda Aceh, Antara, Thursday, March 5.

The car allegedly stolen belongs to Ziyauzzaki (34), a resident of Gampong Lambaro Sukon, Darussalam District, Aceh Besar.

This incident began in early September 2025. At that time, NUR rented a Toyota Avanza Veloz car with the victim's police number BL 1843 LO.

To the car owner, the perpetrator claimed that he wanted to use the vehicle for a trip to Lhokseumawe for five days.

However, after the lease period ended, the car was never returned to the victim.

Feeling aggrieved, the victim then reported the incident to the Banda Aceh Police. The report was recorded in Police Report Number LPB/806/X/2025/SPKT/Polresta Banda Aceh dated October 14, 2025.

After conducting an investigation, the police finally found the whereabouts of the perpetrator in the Lambhuk area, Banda Aceh.

From the results of the preliminary examination, investigators revealed that the car was allegedly exchanged for a drug of the type of crystal methamphetamine weighing about one ounce to a man with the initials IR (40), a resident of North Aceh.

Currently, the police are still developing to find the whereabouts of the victim's car. "The perpetrator was charged with Article 486 of the Criminal Code and detained at the Banda Aceh Police detention house for further investigation," said Erfan.
