Muzani: Prabowo Bisa Tarik Keanggotaan Indonesia di Board of Peace
JAKARTA - MPR Chairman Ahmad Muzani emphasized that President Prabowo Subianto did not make Indonesia a permanent member of the Board of Peace (BoP) or Peace Council, which was formed by US President Donald Trump.
Muzani said President Prabowo could withdraw Indonesia's membership from the Board of Peace at any time. However, the decision has not yet been taken by the head of state.
"For Indonesia, entering and exiting the BoP is something that can happen as mentioned several times by the president. We can leave at any time, but once again it must be a mutual agreement," said Muzani at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, Wednesday, March 4.
Muzani emphasized that Indonesia's intention and purpose of joining the BoP was purely to accelerate the process of independence, development, reconstruction, and rehabilitation of Palestine.
However, Indonesia's membership in the BoP has once again come under sharp scrutiny as the council's instigators, the United States (US), attack Iran. It is known that US President Donald Trump has carried out military operations with Israel to attack Iran.
Muzani said President Prabowo had received many inputs from national figures. The head of state is said to make a decision to support world peace, as well as maintaining national unity and solidarity.
"The President accepted the view with pleasure and as an input that he used as a reference in making decisions," concluded Muzani.
