Receive a Visit from Tokyo Gas and Hanwa, Pohuwato Regent Ensures the Legality and Great Contribution of PT BJA

JAKARTA - Two Japanese giant companies, Tokyo Gas Co., Ltd. and Hanwa Co., Ltd., held a visit to Pohuwato Regency, Gorontalo Province, on Monday, March 2. The visit was carried out in their capacity as buyers of wood pellets from PT Biomasa Jaya Abadi (PT BJA) which operates in Pohuwato Regency, Gorontalo Province.

The main agenda of the visit was an audience with the Pohuwato Regency Government to obtain direct information regarding the legality, operational aspects, and the impact of the presence of PT BJA in the region. The buyer delegation was received directly by the Regent of Pohuwato, Syaipul A. Mbuinga, accompanied by the Regional Secretary and a number of related officials.

During the meeting, Tokyo Gas and Hanwa asked a number of questions, especially regarding the legality and licensing aspects of the company. The Pohuwato Regency Government emphasized that PT BJA is an investor who has fulfilled all licensing requirements and operates legally in accordance with applicable regulations.

"The licensing process for PT BJA has gone through the administrative and technical evaluation mechanism as stipulated in the licensing system," said Regent of Pohuwato Syaiful A. Mbuinga in the meeting.

Apart from the legality aspect, Tokyo Gas and Hanwa paid attention to the social and economic impact of PT BJA on the surrounding community. The Pohuwato Regency Government explained that the existence of PT BJA has made a significant contribution to the local economy. The real contribution includes the absorption of labor, which to date has reached more than 1,500 people.

In addition to reducing the unemployment rate, the existence of PT BJA has also managed to encourage regional economic growth. In addition, PT BJA also carries out corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs as part of the company's commitment to the community on an ongoing basis.

"Investments that enter Pohuwato Regency, including from PT BJA, also contribute to the regional economic growth which reaches around 9%. This figure reflects productive economic activities and has a direct impact on the community. This achievement is the result of synergy between the local government, the business world, and the community in encouraging inclusive and sustainable development," said Regent Syaiful A. Mbuinga.

Regarding environmental issues, the Pohuwato Regency Government ensures that land clearing activities by PT BJA are carried out based on the Annual Work Plan (RKT) and carried out gradually according to the cutting plot. After land clearing, PT BJA immediately replanting by planting gamal trees. The area that is included in the conservation zone, such as the buffer zone or river border, is not carried out land clearing.

On this occasion, the buyer also asked about the mechanism for delivering people's aspirations to the local government. The Pohuwato Regency Government explained that the public can convey aspirations directly to the Regent's Office, DPRD, and related services, and will be received directly by the officials on duty at that time, without going through the email mechanism.

At the end of the audience, the Regent of Pohuwato emphasized the importance of company compliance in fulfilling tax and PNBP obligations to the state and region. He emphasized that the Pohuwato Regency Government is committed to supporting legal, sustainable investments, and providing tangible benefits for the community, while upholding regulatory compliance and environmental protection.
