Prabowo to hear Ulema's opinion tomorrow on Middle East escalation
JAKARTA - President Prabowo wants to listen to the views of ulama during a meeting scheduled at the Palace, Thursday (5/3), regarding the escalation in the Gulf countries after the unilateral attack by the United States and the Zionist Israel against Iran.
MPR Chairman Ahmad Muzani explained that in principle the President is open to the proposals and thoughts of all groups, including ulama.
"Tomorrow (5/3) is also part of the President's efforts to listen to opinions, although the President will also convey his views and his views on the issue," said Muzani explaining the purpose of the meeting between the President and the ulama scheduled for Thursday as reported by ANTARA.
He explained that despite the current tensions in the Middle East, President Prabowo advised all Indonesians to remain united.
"The point is, we are asked to maintain unity, unity, togetherness, and we must continue to maintain brotherhood among Muslims, brotherhood among nations so that there is peace, harmony in this world we can maintain. That's about it," he said.
Muzani and several ministers met with President Prabowo at the Palace, Wednesday afternoon. Muzani explained that the meeting discussed, among others, the President's agenda during the fasting month of Ramadan, including attending the commemoration of the Nuzulul Qur'an on the 17th day of Ramadan, then the payment of zakat by the President.
He explained that the submission of zakat was scheduled to take place at the Palace.
"There are several other things (discussed) including tomorrow's activities with community leaders, pondok leaders (pesantren), community leaders, and missionaries," said Muzani.
The same information regarding the President's meeting with the ulama was also announced by the Minister of Religion (Menag) Nasaruddin Umar during a press conference after a meeting with the President.
Nasaruddin explained that the technicalities of the event on Thursday (5/3) had been discussed in a meeting with President Prabowo. The meeting will also be accompanied by a joint breaking of the fast.
