Central Java Police Ready to Anticipate 2 Peak Eid Homecoming 2026

SEMARANG - Central Java Police stated their readiness to anticipate two peak homecoming flows during the 2026 Lebaran transportation period.

Head of Public Relations of Central Java Police, Kombes Artanto, said the surge in the movement of travelers who will enter this province during the 2026 Lebaran homecoming is estimated to increase by 1.4 to 2.1 percent compared to the previous year.

"It is predicted that the peak of the homecoming flow this year will occur twice, namely on March 14-15 and March 18-19, 2026," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, March 4.

The peak wave pattern of homecoming, he said, is inseparable from the government's policy on more flexible working hours so that people will not return home at one time.

The Central Java Police have prepared various anticipatory steps, such as placing personnel on toll roads, arteries, and locations prone to density and accidents.

In addition, security posts and integrated posts are prepared to provide fast service to the public.

He said traffic engineering, such as one-way lanes and opposite lanes, was also prepared and would be implemented on a situational basis according to traffic conditions.

To the people who will go home for Eid, he urged, to prepare themselves from a long time ago.

"Make sure the vehicle is in good condition and the fuel is full before leaving. Check the balance of the electronic money card so that there is no queue at the toll gate," he said.
