Again, Debt Collector Abused a Customer in Kalideres
JAKARTA - A gang that claimed to be a debt collector (debt collector) seized a motorcycle and harassed a rider in the Jalan Daan Mogot area, Kalideres, West Jakarta.
The motorcyclist, whose identity is not known, was passing towards Tangerang until he became a victim of a criminal act in front of a can factory on Tuesday, around 05.10 WIB.
The head of the Kalideres Police, Kompol Rihold Sihotang, when confirmed in Jakarta, Wednesday, said his party was following up on the information. However, until now the victim has not made a police report regarding the gangsterism he experienced.
"We are investigating first. The victim has also not reported to the Kalideres Police," he said.
Meanwhile, responding to public concerns about the prevalence of "eagle eye" (matel) vigilante actions in the Daan Mogot area, Rihold emphasized that his ranks would tighten supervision.
"Our team from the Criminal Investigation Unit Opsnal always routinely conducts matel patrols, especially along Jalan Daan Mogot. In the future, patrols will be increased," said Rihold.
In the video uploaded to the @warga.jakbar Instagram account, a man is seen sitting on the side of the road with clothes wet and dirty from the black mud of the river.
The victim, who claimed to work as a security officer at Bank BSI Cisoka, Tangerang, had to give up his motorcycle and all his valuable belongings were seized by the perpetrators' gang.
The victim told that when he was driving in the morning, he was suddenly hit by four perpetrators riding two motorbikes.
"Again, suddenly two motorbikes passed by. One in front and one behind. I almost fell. My key was pulled," the victim said in the video, quoted Wednesday.
After forcibly dismissing, the group claimed to be matel and accused the victim of being months behind on vehicle installments.
"He is the reason for the matel. My motorcycle was said not to be paid for three months, even though I just paid yesterday on February 28," he said.
Instead of listening to the victim's explanation, the perpetrators began to intimidate and commit physical violence. The victim admitted that he was interrogated, beaten, and finally pushed into the river (time) on the side of Jalan Daan Mogot.
"I was asked all sorts of things. I was beaten in the stomach, I was mentally beaten by the river," he said.
In a helpless state after being pushed into the river, the victim could only watch helplessly as the gang took away his motorcycle along with all his valuable belongings.
"The stolen motorcycle, my bag, my phone, my wallet, everything was in the bag. My phone, my wallet, my KTP, my KTA, my GP and GM were taken. There was money in the bag," he added.
