Mirae Asset Office Searched by OJK and Criminal Investigation Unit for Insider Trading of IDR 14.5 Trillion
JAKARTA - Investigators from the Financial Services Authority (OJK) together with the Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim Polri) carried out a search at the PT Mirae Asset Sekuritas Indonesia office located in the Sudirman Central Business District (SCBD), South Jakarta, on Wednesday, March 4, 2026.
The search was carried out in the context of an investigation into alleged criminal acts in the capital market sector being handled by OJK.
The Executive Director of the OJK Financial Services Sector Investigators, Inspector General Daniel Bolly Hyronimus, said that the search activities were carried out to strengthen evidence in the ongoing case.
"Today at noon we from OJK together with the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police conducted an investigative activity in the form of a search at PT MA. This search was carried out to find additional evidence because the company is still involved in the case we are handling," Daniel told reporters on Wednesday, March 4, 2026.
In this case, investigators have named two suspects with initials AS and M. Both are officials at the company.
According to Daniel, the suspects are suspected of practicing insider trading and dummy trading in the capital market.
"The suspect bought shares based on information from insiders. Practices like this are not allowed in the capital market. In addition, there is also an alleged dummy trade that violates the principle of fairness (fairness) in the capital market," he said.
He revealed that the transaction value related to the case reached around IDR 14.5 trillion. This value comes from around two billion shares which have now been frozen by investigators.
"The total is around Rp. 14.4 to Rp. 14.5 trillion from the shares we freeze. For the time being, these shares cannot be traded," explained Daniel.
The alleged practice is known to have taken place in the period 2021 to 2023. However, investigators have not revealed the stock sector that is the object of the case because it is still in the investigation process.
Daniel added that the case files of the two suspects had been completed and had been forwarded to the prosecutor's office to await the status of P21.
Meanwhile, the search conducted at the company's office aims to collect additional evidence, especially in the form of documents and data storage devices.
"Later at the office we will sort out the evidence. There was also a lawyer who witnessed what items we seized. Later, we will return what is not needed," he said.
He added that the evidence seized in the search was mostly in the form of documents and USB devices containing data related to the case.
"The most of it is in the form of documents, then there are also USBs containing data," he concluded.
