MPR Chairman Ahmad Muzani: RI can exit BoP anytime, but must agree
JAKARTA - MPR Chairman Ahmad Muzani said President Prabowo Subianto gave a message that sounded simple, but it was actually the easiest to happen when the world was hot. Don't get scattered.
Ahmad Muzani said the global situation made the public easy to judge with their own point of view, then suspicious of each other. The risk is that the harmony and cohesion of the nation will be eroded slowly.
"The President wants us all to maintain unity, maintain cohesiveness," said Muzani at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, Wednesday, March 4.
According to Muzani, this is also what President Prabowo Subianto conveyed on Tuesday evening when discussing with the leaders of the nation.
He said the meeting of the leaders of the nation was familiar, even occasionally interspersed with jokes. But the material discussed was serious.
The President explained the details of the global developments that he understood. The figures responded. Some asked questions, some gave opinions.
Muzani said former President Jokowi, former President SBY, former Vice President JK, former Vice President Ma'ruf Amin, and several former foreign ministers also submitted input.
"Ada yang kritis, tajam... semua diterima presiden," ujarnya.
When asked about the Board of Peace (BoP), Muzani emphasized that BoP was aimed at accelerating Palestinian independence as well as encouraging reconstruction and rehabilitation. However, he also underlined that Indonesia's participation was not a dead price.
"Indonesia masuk dan keluar BoP. Bisa saja terjadi. Kita bisa kapan saja keluar, tapi itu harus atas kesepakatan bersama-sama," kata Muzani.
Regarding the news of Ali Khamenei's death and the reason why the President has not made a public statement, Muzani said it had been explained. He said the Foreign Minister was sent to meet the ambassador, but he did not specify the location or the content of the message.
