Nuzulul Quran Held at the State Palace, Menag Reported "Takbiran Without Sound" During Nyepi March 19

JAKARTA - Minister of Religion Nasaruddin Umar said President Prabowo Subianto gave instructions for the Nuzulul Quran commemoration to be held in Jakarta, specifically at the State Palace. The decision was made after the Minister of Religion explained several location options, including IKN and Istiqlal Mosque.

"We also talked about the technical because there are many alternatives whether in IKN whether in Istiqlal whether in the Palace. The president gave us instructions to do it at the State Palace," said Nasaruddin after meeting the President at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, Wednesday, March 4.

In addition to the Nuzulul Quran, the Minister of Religion reported the preparation for Eid, especially regarding the special situation on March 19 which coincided with Nyepi Day in Bali. He emphasized that there were vulnerable points, namely, the night before there was a tradition of takbir, while Nyepi prohibited noise and vehicle activity.

Nasaruddin said there was an agreement with the local government and figures in Bali that the takbiran would continue to run without being considered contrary to Nyepi. The key is that takbiran does not use a sound system during a certain period of time. "The only requirement is that takbir runs only without using a sound system from 06.00 to 09.00," he said.

He also emphasized that the difference in the determination of Idulfitri was considered normal in Indonesia. The government, he said, would wait for the Isbat Session to determine the official date.

The Minister of Religion explained that he also discussed the schedule for paying the President's and officials' zakat. "We will also schedule it at the State Palace," he said.

Regarding the agenda for breaking the fast with religious figures, Nasaruddin said the President would invite scholars and figures from across organizations as usual. "Tomorrow... religious figures, Islamic organizations, pondok leaders according to the capacity accommodated by the existing room," he said.
