Bali Police: Blood Stains Found Identical to DNA of Foreign Mother of Kidnapped Victim
DENPASAR - The Directorate of Criminal Investigation of the Bali Regional Police has confirmed that the blood stains found in a hotel and a car in Tabanan are identical to the DNA of the mother of a Ukrainian citizen Ihor Komarav (28) who is suspected of being a kidnapping victim.
Head of Public Relations of the Bali Police, Kombes Ariasandy, said this was based on the results of forensic laboratory tests in the form of blood samples found by the team at two places suspected to be related to the abduction of the Ukrainian citizen.
"If the blood spatter we get at the villa, then in the Avanza car used by the perpetrator, we match it with the DNA from the victim's mother, identical," he said, Wednesday, March 4.
According to Ariasandy, from the DNA match, investigators suspect that the victim Ihor Komarav was taken by six perpetrators using a Toyota Avanza car, then covered up at a villa located in Tabanan, Bali.
"What is clear, in the blood traces, we can confirm that the victim who was abducted was used at that time, meaning that it was transported using the vehicle and was put in the villa, where we found blood stains. Because it is identical, the same, it matches the DNA," he said.
Ariasandy said that in the case of the alleged kidnapping of Ihor Komarav, investigators had named six suspects plus one Nigerian foreigner who was hired by six foreigners to order one car unit and two motorcycle units.
The Bali Police have also included the six foreigners on the wanted list (DPO) and submitted a red notice to Interpol to be hunted down.
"We are still pursuing, still coordinating with related parties, including interpol. DPO and red notices have been issued," he said.
The Bali Police confirmed that four of the foreigners had fled Bali, while two others were still detected in Indonesia.
