Transjakarta Adds Number of Armada to Tourist Spots During Lebaran Holidays

JAKARTA - PT Transjakarta will adjust the number of bus fleets serving routes to tourist areas during the Lebaran holiday. This step was taken because the surge in passengers usually occurs on the second and third days of Eid al-Fitr.

Transjakarta President Director, Welfizon Yuza, said his party anticipated high mobility of residents to a number of favorite destinations.

"During the Lebaran holiday, we usually anticipate that there will be a lot of requests or travel to tourist attractions. So to Ancol, Taman Mini, Ragunan, maybe also PIK, these are routes that we will probably strengthen our fleet," said Welfizon to reporters, Wednesday, March 4.

He said that the crucial point, which is almost always crowded with visitors, is the Ragunan Zoo area, especially on the second and third days of Lebaran. In addition to the affordable ticket prices, the capacity of the tourist area is also large, making it the main choice for residents.

"We are also studying that there may be some alternative direct routes that will go directly to Ragunan. Later we will reactivate, we will coordinate with the Transportation Office. For example, from corridor 13 later which can go directly from Ciledug to Ragunan, we will prepare it," he said.

In addition to Ragunan, the strengthening of the fleet will also be focused on routes to Ancol, Taman Mini Indonesia Indah, and the Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK) area.

Transjakarta, continued Welfizon, is also studying the fleet's needs for Transjabodetabek routes such as to Alam Sutera and Bogor. Considering that, in total, passenger demand on all routes during Lebaran tends to decrease because many residents go home outside the city.

"Actually, the number of our fleet at Eid is relatively low in total demand for all routes. So we can allocate for routes that need in tourist places," explained Welfizon.

In addition, the DKI Provincial Government will also make the Transjakarta public transportation service free of charge during the 1447 Hijriah Eid al-Fitr celebration. This policy applies to all services, including the main corridor to the feeder route.

This policy is usually applied during national holidays to promote the use of public transportation by the community.

"If we look at the implementation of free services, namely all Transjakarta services. So including TransJabodetabek, then BRT, non-BRT, the tariff is Rp0. If Mikrotrans (Jaklingko) is indeed Rp0," said Welfizon.

Welfizon explained that this policy is part of the DKI Provincial Government's commitment to supporting citizen mobility during religious holidays. Previously, free services were also applied during Christmas, Chinese New Year, and Ramadan momentum.
