BGN Suspends 49 SPPG for MBG Service Improvement

JAKARTA - A total of 49 nutrition fulfillment service units (SPPG) for the free nutritious meal program (MBG) have been temporarily suspended (suspended) by the National Nutrition Agency (BGN). This step is carried out as part of the comprehensive improvement of the MBG program service system.

Head of BGN, Dadan Hindayana, said the suspension policy was taken to ensure that hygiene standards, food safety, and compliance with operational procedures were maintained.

"The total SPPG that we are currently suspending is 49 units. This is part of the improvement and supervision process that we continue to carry out," Dadan said in an official statement, quoted Wednesday, March 4.

Of the total 49 SPPG that were suspended, four units were allowed to resume operations after undergoing evaluation and were found to meet the standards set by BGN. The four are in Bengkulu, South Kalimantan, and Papua provinces.

According to Dadan, the temporary suspension was carried out if there were inconsistencies in operational aspects, raw material quality, and food safety procedures. During the suspension period, the SPPG manager must carry out a thorough repair before being able to serve the beneficiaries of the MBG Program.

SPPG which has been proven not to meet the standards will be evaluated immediately and suspended temporarily until improvements are made in accordance with the provisions.

"The principle is not merely to stop, but to ensure the quality and safety of the service. If it meets the standards again, of course we will allow it to operate again," he said.

BGN emphasized that supervision of the implementation of the MBG program will continue to be tightened to reduce the potential for incidents and increase public confidence in the government's priority programs in meeting national nutrition.
