Daniel Aibon Kogoya Group Headquarters and Logistics in Nabire are Controlled, Koops TNI Papua Seized Ammunition to Rp79.7 Million in Money

NABIRE - The joint patrol of the Koops TNI Papua claimed to have successfully repelled the TPNPB-OPM armed group led by Daniel Aibon Kogoya (referred to as Danyon Ndulamo Kodap III Ndugama) in the Kepala Air area, Nabarua Atas, Kaliharapan Village, Nabire District, Sunday (1/3/2026). The operation from 10.00 WIT until the evening resulted in the domination of the location which is said to be the movement base as well as the logistics warehouse of the group.

According to the Koops TNI Papua Public Information Chief, Lieutenant Colonel Inf. M. Wirya Arthadiguna, in a written statement received on Wednesday, March 4, "The Koops TNI Papua Joint Patrol Team has successfully carried out an ambush... and seized the OPM headquarters, as well as securing a number of evidence."

The evidence claimed to have been secured is not small. The patrol team seized hundreds of rounds of ammunition of various calibers, 10 magazines for long-barreled weapons, 5 HT units, 12 mobile phones, cash Rp79.7 million, as well as field attributes and equipment. All of them, said Koops TNI Papua, were secured for further investigation in accordance with legal provisions.

Wirya said the operation was carried out "professionally and measured". He emphasized that when the team approached the location, there was a shootout between the patrol and the armed group, until the group "retreated and fled into the forest, leaving their equipment at the headquarters."

Koops TNI Papua assessed that this mastery of the base and logistics would narrow the space for movement of the TPNPB-OPM in Nabire. However, the size of the impact on the ground will still be determined by the next steps of the apparatus, including the search for networks, the origin of ammunition, and the logistics routes that allow the headquarters to survive.
