Kadispenad: Prajurit Aniaya Sopir Taksi Online di Puspitek Tangsel Bakal Dihukum

JAKARTA - The Army Information Service (Dispenad) revealed that the soldier with the initials Peltu A was involved in an alleged case of abuse against an online taxi driver on Jalan Raya Puspiptek, Setu District, South Tangerang, will be dealt with firmly according to applicable military law and discipline.

"We ensure that the legal process runs in accordance with applicable regulations, including deepening the chronology, examination of witnesses, and collection of evidence," said the Head of the Army Information Service (Kadispenad) Brigadier General TNI Donny Pramono in a written statement reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, March 4.

He said, based on the results of coordination with the South Tangerang Police after the alleged persecution. On Monday (2/3) evening, the soldier was secured and is undergoing an examination at Madenpom Jaya/1 Tangerang.

"Currently, the soldiers involved have been secured and are being investigated by Denpom Jaya/1 Tangerang," he said.

It is ensured that the current examination process is still ongoing and carried out thoroughly as a way to uncover the events that occurred in full.

However, based on the initial investigation, it was found that the incident occurred due to a dispute over a vehicle. So the soldier allegedly pointed a weapon resembling a gun, which was later found to be a wooden toy gun.

The Army ensures a quick handling of the incident. Where, his party will not tolerate any form of violation of the law or actions that can hurt public confidence.

"TNI AD is committed to continuing to maintain public confidence and the professionalism of soldiers through a transparent and accountable law enforcement mechanism," he said.

Previously, the South Tangerang Police (Tangsel) handled a suspected case of abuse committed by a man who claimed to be an officer against an online taxi driver on Jalan Raya Puspiptek, Setu District.

This man's act went viral on the Instagram account @daschamindonesia. Where, the incident started from the existence of two cars that collided with each other.

Then, the situation heated up when a man approached and harassed the online driver. The victim can even be seen thrown onto the road while his hands are handcuffed.

"It is true that there were reports that came into the South Tangerang Police on Monday, March 2, 2026. From the report, we conducted an investigation by examining the victim and the reporter," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of South Tangerang Police, AKP Wira Graha Setiawan.

Wira said the incident began with a scuffle between the two vehicles, triggering a quarrel that led to acts of violence.

"We are still investigating some evidence and videos that are circulating, and we have handed over the suspected perpetrators to the side unit (Denpom Jaya) for further processing," said Wira.
