After Meeting President Prabowo at the Palace, Golkar Chairman: Political Parties are Asked to Prepare for Geopolitics and Energy Risks

JAKARTA - Golkar Party Chairman Bahlil Lahadalia said President Prabowo Subianto explained the current geopolitical situation and Indonesia's anticipation steps, especially related to energy, when the chairmen of political parties met at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta. Tuesday, March 3.

Bahlil came with the General Chair of the Democratic Party, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, the General Chair of PAN Zulkifli Hasan, and the President of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) Ahmad Muzammil Yusuf. He emphasized that the main message of the President was to prepare a quick step so that global turmoil would not become a hole that would undermine national security.

"The President explained various things related to geopolitical developments and Indonesia's readiness to face all global dynamics, especially in the context of energy and several other issues," said Bahlil, who also serves as Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, to reporters. He assessed that the parties "very understand the position taken by the President" and support the readiness of steps to anticipate the situation.

"The principle... how to encourage global events so that we can anticipate to secure our country," he continued, then closed briefly, "If you have any questions, if there are no questions it's much better."

On the same occasion, Ahmad Muzammil Yusuf said the meeting also touched on the "BoP" as well as the latest developments in the Iran-Israel conflict. According to him, the President's explanation regarding the BoP is in line with what he had previously conveyed to the MUI and Islamic organizations, in the form of "the hardest choice... not ideal choices, maybe he has already explained it" at the forum.

Muzammil emphasized the focus of the meeting on readiness for crisis, "our food readiness, our energy readiness, and our elite dialogue." He said the President invited figures to unite the elite, and "inshaallah will convey to the public his official attitudes."
