Bengkulu Prosecutor Seizes 8 Land of Suspects in Mine Corruption
Bengkulu - The High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) Bengkulu has confiscated eight plots of land and eight certificates belonging to the suspect in the coal mine corruption case, Soni Adnan, former Director of PT Ratu Samban Mining (RSM) for the period 2006-2012.
The seizure of the assets was carried out as an effort by the prosecutor's office to recover state losses of IDR 1.3 trillion in the case of alleged corruption in the transfer of mining rights of PT RSM.
"Yes, we received and confiscated eight pieces of land and eight certificates in the name of the suspect. That is part of the evidence in this case," said Head of the Prosecution Section (Kasi) of the Bengkulu Regional Attorney's Office, Arief Wirawan, as reported by ANTARA, Monday, March 4.
Most recently, the Special Criminal Investigation Team seized eight plots of land and eight certificates belonging to the suspect, Soni Adnan, former President Director of PT RSM.
The seized land assets are located in Bengkulu City and a number of other areas in Bengkulu Province. If the court decides that the assets are confiscated, the proceeds will be used to recover state losses.
Meanwhile, the Bengkulu Prosecutor's Office has examined more than 50 witnesses related to the alleged coal mining corruption case involving PT Ratu Samban Mining.
More than 50 witnesses were examined after the Bengkulu Regional Attorney's Special Criminal Investigation (Pidsus) investigators named Soni Adnan, former Director of PT Ratu Samban Mining, as a suspect in early 2026.
"Regarding the case with the suspect SA in the mining sector, 50 witnesses have been examined, including the examination of foreign nationals (WNA) with the initials WS," said Acting Head of the Legal Information Section (Kasi Penkum) of the Bengkulu Regional Attorney's Office, Deni Agustian.
One of the witnesses examined was an Australian citizen, Wilfred Schultz, as a consultant to the Wilfred Schultz Office in 2012.
Deni explained that Wilfred was examined as a witness to investigate information and strengthen evidence in the ongoing investigation process.
Previously, the Bengkulu Attorney General's Office named the former North Bengkulu Regent for two periods (2006-2016) as well as the former member of the Regional Representative Council (DPRD) of Bengkulu Province for the 2019-2020 period, Imron Rosyadi, as a suspect.
Imron Rosyadi was named the 15th suspect in connection with the alleged coal mining corruption case by PT Ratu Samban Mining which caused losses to the state treasury of up to IDR 1.3 trillion.
Previously, the Bengkulu Prosecutor's Office had also named two other suspects, namely Soni Adnan, former Director of PT Ratu Samban Mining, and Fadillah Marik, former Head of the Bengkulu Provincial Mining and Energy Service in 2007.
