Netanyahu Orders Israeli Military to Bomb Iran-Lebanon Region
JAKARTA - Israeli Prime Minister (PM) Benjamin Netanyahu, who encouraged his ally US President Donald Trump to attack Iran, has confirmed his intention to continue to fight.
He said Israel was continuing to bomb Iran and vowed to attack the Lebanese Hezbollah group with increasing force.
"We continue to attack Iran with force. Our pilots are in the skies over Iran and Tehran, and also over Lebanon," Netanyahu said at an air force base in central Israel in a statement from the PM's office, quoted by Al Jazeera, Tuesday, March 3.
The US-Israel attacked Iran on Saturday, February 28 in the midst of nuclear negotiations mediated by Oman, entering the fourth round without encountering obstacles. Iran then retaliated by attacking US assets in the Middle East and Israel.
Hezbollah took part by firing rockets into Israel. This was the first Hezbollah attack in more than a year.
Israel, which has been in a ceasefire with Hezbollah since November 2024 but continues to violate it, did not think twice about responding to Hezbollah's attacks by firing hundreds of attacks into Lebanon.
"Hezbollah made a big mistake when it attacked us. We have responded strongly, and we will respond with even greater strength," Netanyahu said.
