Iran Warns European Countries Not to Join the War

JAKARTA - The Iranian government on Tuesday warned European countries not to participate in its conflict with Israel and the United States.

It comes after Germany, Britain, and France said they could take "defensive action" to destroy Iran's missile-launching capabilities.

"It would be an act of war. Any action against Iran would be considered as involvement with the aggressor. It would be considered an act of war against Iran," Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei said at a press conference when asked about the statement, reported Al Arabiya (3/3).

It is known that the US and Iran held "Operation Epic Furry" version of Washington or "Operation Roaring Lion" version of Tel Aviv on Saturday, quoted from ABC.

The attack left hundreds of people dead in Iran, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and a number of senior Tehran officials.

"According to field reports from the operational team, unfortunately, 787 citizens have been killed in this attack," the Iranian Red Crescent said on its website.

Separately, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said his country was sending a helicopter with anti-drone capabilities and deploying the air defense destroyer HMS Dragon to the Cyprus region.

"The UK is fully committed to the security of Cyprus and the British military personnel stationed there," Starmer said via his X account, @Keir_Starmer, Tuesday, March 3.

Starmer said the delivery of the British military equipment had been coordinated with Cyprus President Nikos Christodoulides.

Cyprus is known as the location of the British military base in the Middle East that Starmer is welcome to use for the interests of his allies the United States (US)-Israel in military operations against Iran.

Meanwhile, Britain plans to send warships to defend the Royal Air Force base of Akrotiri in Cyprus from an Iranian attack, the Times newspaper said on Tuesday.

An Iranian-made drone attack hit the runway at the Akrotiri base in the early hours of Monday, and Britain said British assets were targeted by Iran.

A German government spokesman also said on Monday that the country's military personnel stationed in the Middle East have the right to defend themselves if attacked, following the US-Israeli military attack on Iran.
