Location Of Monas Explosion Combed By DKI Pemprov UPT Officers
JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan ordered Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) officers to comb the location of the Monas explosion. This morning, the north side of Monas saw a smoke grenade explosion. Two people became victims, namely Serka Fajar and Praka Gunawan.
Anies ordered, UPT officers combed the location of the explosion and when they found suspicious objects to coordinate with the police.
"If anything deemed dangerous is found, report it to the security forces. Because there are also security forces on duty. So that's what we do," said Anies when he was met at the DPRD Building, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, December 3.
He did not want to talk about the security evaluation after the explosion at Monas, which is Indonesia's first ring. According to Anies, this is the authority of the law enforcement apparatus.
"We are on the management of the area. Even so, we are still doing a review to check it," he said.
Even so, he made sure that in general, conditions in Jakarta were still safe. "It was more like an incident," he said.
A smoke grenade explosion occurred in the area of the National Monument (Monas) this morning. Two people became victims, Serka Fajar and Praka Gunawan, who suffered injuries to the hands and thighs. Both of them were taken to Gatot Subroto Hospital for treatment.
Even though the explosion was not far from the State Palace, Presidential Spokesman, Fadjroel Rachman ensured that President Joko Widodo's (Jokowi) activities remained safe.
"The palace is fine. The agenda is all running, from 09.30 WIB receiving the Chancellor and the Minister of Research and Technology. At 10 receiving the UI Chancellor, there was a meeting from Japan and at 14.00 WIB there was a Presidential Lecture on Pancasila. Nothing was postponed," said Fadjroel. .
Apart from having no agenda being disturbed, Fadjroel said that excessive security was also not visible even though the explosion occurred near the Presidential Palace. "Just normal, not tightened, tightened just here," he said.
Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General Gatot Eddy Pramono appealed to the public to calm down after the explosion at Monas, which injured two members of the TNI. He also asked people to have normal activities as usual.
"The public is calm, there is no need to worry anymore," he said.
