Police Investigate Alleged Murder and Robbery Case in Prima Lingkar Asri Bekasi Housing
JAKARTA - The case of alleged murder accompanied by robbery at a house in the Prima Lingkar Asri Housing, Jatibening Village, Pondok Gede District, Bekasi City, is being handled by the police. The incident occurred on Monday, March 2, 2026.
Head of Public Relations of the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Pol Budi Hetmanto, confirmed the incident. He stated that the case is currently being handled by the Jatanras Sub-Directorate of the Metro Jaya Police Criminal Investigation Unit together with the Bekasi City Metro Police.
"Yes, currently the Bekasi City Metro Police together with the Jatanras Sub-Directorate and the Resmob Sub-Directorate of the Metro Jaya Police are carrying out an investigation related to the case," said Budi when contacted by reporters, Tuesday, March 3, 2026.
Budi explained that investigators were still investigating the motive of the perpetrator. Currently, the joint team is still focusing on collecting facts in the field to reveal the identity of the perpetrator.
"Regarding the motive, until now it is still being investigated. The main focus of the team is to collect facts, uncover the perpetrators, and make arrests," he said.
In the incident, the resident of the house who was a husband with the initials E (65) was declared dead. Meanwhile, his wife was injured and had been rushed to the hospital for medical treatment.
"We express our condolences to the victim's family. Hopefully the perpetrator can be arrested soon," he said.
Furthermore, Budi also appealed to the public, especially those who will carry out homecoming, to increase vigilance and implement crime prevention measures in the home environment.
"Some steps that can be taken include ensuring that the doors and windows of the house are locked with double security, and ensuring that the fence and garage are locked. Residents are also advised to activate CCTV or security alarms if available, especially those leading to the main entrance of the house," he said.
In addition, turn on automatic lights using a timer or motion sensor so that the house does not look empty. Valuable items and important documents should be stored in a safe place such as a safe or deposited in a safer place if necessary.
The police also remind you not to leave spare keys in places that are easy to guess, and to ensure that stoves and gas installations are in a safe condition by removing the regulator if necessary. Unused electrical devices should also be turned off.
