Bima Residents Do Not Have to Go to Out of Town, This Hospital is Ready to Operate in July 2026

JAKARTA - Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin said that the Bima City Hospital in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), was built to strengthen priority disease services. So, patient treatment no longer has to be referred outside the area.

Budi explained that the Bima City Hospital was built as a type C hospital to support the implementation of the KJSU-KIA national priority services (cancer, heart, stroke, uronephrology, maternal and child health).

"His presence is expected to strengthen access to specialist services for the people of Bima City, Bima Regency, and Dompu Regency, so that priority cases can be handled faster without having to refer to outside the region," said Budi as quoted from a written statement, Tuesday, March 3.

The hospital built by PT Hutama Karya (Persero) has reached 100 percent physical progress at the end of December 2025 and is now entering the finalization phase of operations.

The review was carried out to ensure the readiness of facilities, infrastructure, health equipment and medical personnel before full operation.

During his visit, Friday, February 27, Budi reviewed the CT-Scan room, operating room, intensive care unit, and various supporting medical equipment.

He also conveyed a number of technical notes for improvement before the service was opened to the public.

Technically, the main building of the Bima City Hospital consists of three floors with an area of approximately 7,557 square meters.

Facilities available include emergency installation (IGD), specialist polyclinic, operating room, ICU, NICU, PICU, radiology, pharmacy, medical rehabilitation and other supporting facilities.

In addition, there is a three-story inpatient building with a capacity of 100 beds that has also been prepared to strengthen the patient capacity.

NTB Governor Lalu Muhammad Iqbal said that the existence of the hospital is expected to accelerate the treatment of priority diseases in the eastern part of the province.

According to him, the people of Bima and its surroundings no longer have to travel outside the area to get specialist services.

The visit was also attended by regional government officials and Hutama Karya management as a form of synergy in strengthening the regional health service system.

Meanwhile, Acting Executive Vice President of the Secretary of Hutama Karya Hamdani stated that the completion of the project was the company's commitment to providing reliable and safe health infrastructure.

"In every stage of construction, we apply strict quality control and work safety, accompanied by thorough supervision so that the results are up to high standards. We hope that this hospital will not only be completed on time, but also be able to provide the best service for the community and support the improvement of the quality of the health system in NTB," he said.

Hamdani assessed that the construction was carried out with strict quality control and work safety to meet high standards.

The Bima City Hospital is planned to start serving the community in July 2026 after all stages of finalization of facilities, infrastructure, and readiness of health human resources are completed.

The presence of this facility was also welcomed positively by the community. Residents of Rabadompu, Chamim, hope that health services will be easier to reach and can immediately operate optimally.
