Played by Kim Soo Hyun, Disney's Response After Knock-Off Series Plans to Release This Year
JAKARTA - The latest Korean series Knock-Off is rumored to be released this year. The release of this series was postponed after the main cast, Kim Soo Hyun, was involved in a controversy regarding the news of his relationship with the late Kim Sae Ron.
On February 28, Disney+ Korea was rumored to be discussing releasing the Knock-Off series in the first half of this year. Local media said the platform was arranging the schedule for the series.
Tuesday, March 3, Disney+ denied the report and said the news was not true. They also could not confirm when the series would be released.
"The report regarding us preparing a schedule for the Knock-Off series for release this year is not true. There is no update regarding our previous statement," said Disney+.
The Knock-Off series has a production cost of 60 billion Won and is touted as the largest production in a Disney series. Originally, the series was scheduled to be released in April 2025. The series was even confirmed to continue to the second season before the first season was released.
However, a month before it was released, Kim Soo Hyun was revealed to be involved in a grooming controversy when he was dating Kim Sae Ron while still a minor.
Knock-Off tells the story of an employee who loses his job. He then takes care of the sale of counterfeit goods which is the beginning of his success. On the other hand, a woman who works in the police department, is looking for a case of counterfeit goods related to her ex-boyfriend.
In addition to Kim Soo Hyun, the series is also played by Jo Bo Ah, Yoo Jae Myung, Choi Gyu Ri, Bang Hyo Rin, Kim Hye Eun, and others.
