Taylor Swift Reintroduces Exclusive Vinyl for Record Store Day
JAKARTA - Taylor Swift again showed his commitment to supporting the existence of physical music stores through the annual Record Store Day (RSD) event.
At this year's event, the pop diva officially announced the release of an exclusive vinyl for one of the fans' favorite songs from the album "The Life of a Showgirl".
The selected song that will receive special treatment is "Elizabeth Taylor". This song is the third track from the album "The Life of a Showgirl" which successfully topped the Billboard 200 for 12 weeks since its release in October 2025.
This 7-inch black disc comes with a stunning visual design, namely a purple and blue galaxy disc that contrasts with an elegant black-and-white cover.
This exclusive product is titled the official vinyl "Cry My Eyes Violet Glitter", a title that refers directly to a lyric in the song "Elizabeth Taylor".
Through their official Instagram account, the RSD party expressed their enthusiasm for this collaboration.
"Record Store Day has just become... Very Glamorous," RSD wrote, quoting the caption of the upload, Tuesday, March 3.
The song "Elizabeth Taylor" itself is inspired by the life of the beautiful-eyed Hollywood legend who is Swift's idol, the main character of the iconic film Cleopatra.
Since its debut, this song has been perched at number three on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, following the success of the songs "The Fate of Ophelia" and "Opalite" which had previously tasted the top position.
High appreciation also came from the family of the late Elizabeth Taylor. Christopher Wilding, the son of the actress, expressed his admiration for the way Swift packed his mother's life story into a melody.
"They are both real embodiments of women's empowerment. How Swift deftly captures the similarities and parallel paths in their careers and personal lives is a very fun thing," Wilding said, quoted by Billboard.
Taylor Swift's latest move extends her list of contributions to the physical release industry. In previous years, the involvement of the 14-time Grammy winner has always triggered a significant sales spike in local record stores.
For example, the vinyl release of the song "Fortnight" with Post Malone last year became one of the best-selling items in RSD history.
For collectors and fans around the world, the "Elizabeth Taylor" vinyl can only be obtained at independent music outlets participating in the Record Store Day celebration which falls on April 18, 2026.
The release is predicted to trigger long lines of Swifties who want to secure the latest pop history piece from their idols.
