Two Police SS1 Guns Found In Papua Shelter House, Revolver Taken Escape
JAKARTA - Two firearms of the SS1 V1 type belonging to the National Police which were taken by an unknown group of people at the Oksamol Pol sub-sector, Bintang Mountains Regency, Papua, on Wednesday, May 2, were found at a halfway house located on the RI-PNG border.
The Head of the Bintang Mountains Police AKBP Cahyo Sukarnito confirmed that the SS1 V1 rifle had been secured along with ammunition.
This finding was made after the Joint Mobile Brigade Team of the Papua Police and the Pegbin Police received information from residents about the existence of a house on the edge of the river which is usually used as a shelter.
After receiving information the team moved and walked for about five hours to approach the border with PNG and when approached, they found two SS1 firearms and ammunition.
"It is possible that the revolver was brought by the perpetrator," said Cahyo, admitting that until now he has not been able to determine who the perpetrators of the attack that killed First Brigadier Mario Sanoy and took three rifles, reported by Antara, Thursday, June 3.
The incident occurred on Friday, May 28, when the victim, who served as the Head of the Oksamol Sub-Sector Police, was just standing guard alone because three of his colleagues were out of the area.
Currently the body of Brigadier Mario Sanoi is buried at the Tanah Hitam TPU on Sunday, May 30.
