Jayapura Health Services More Complete: Labkesda Targets Full Operation Early 2027
JAKARTA - Good news for people in Jayapura Regency, Papua. Health facilities in this area are guaranteed to be more competent with the target of operating the Regional Health Laboratory (Labkesda) in full at the beginning of 2027.
The Secretary of the Jayapura Regency Health Office, Adi Kurniawan, expressed his optimism that the physical construction of the building would be completed in the next month. After that, the focus will shift to technical preparations and utilization of facilities to improve the standard of laboratory services for local residents.
Technology Support from the Ministry of Health
The central government through the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) also provides full support for this strategic project. The following are some important points related to the readiness of the facility:
Distribution of Medical Equipment: Starting in the second quarter of this year (around April 2026), the Ministry of Health is scheduled to send medical equipment (alkes) gradually.
Large Scale: It is recorded that there are 62 types of high-value alkes that will be brought in to fill the modern laboratory spaces.
Budget Readiness: The Jayapura Health Office has allocated special budgets to support initial operations, ranging from procurement of reagents, consumables, to medicines that are adjusted to the specifications of the equipment received.
Steps Towards the Inauguration
While waiting for the building to be completely completed, intensive coordination continues to be carried out with the Ministry of Health to ensure that the delivery of equipment runs according to schedule. "We hope that early 2027 Labkesda can be inaugurated and begin to operate fully to serve the community," said Adi in Sentani as reported by ANTARA.
The presence of this Labkesda is expected to be a new milestone for the independence of health services in Jayapura, so that complex medical examinations can now be done faster and more accurately in their own region.
