Arus Mudik Lebaran 2026, Pelabuhan Penyeberangan Dibagi Sesuai Golongan Kendaraan

JAKARTA - The government is preparing a special scheme for the distribution of crossing ports during the 2026 Lebaran Transportation period to anticipate the surge in community and vehicle mobility. The arrangement is based on vehicle groups and axes so that the flow of homecoming and return remains under control.

The policy was drafted by the Ministry of Transportation together with the National Police Traffic Directorate and the Ministry of Public Works. This scheme targets major ports such as Merak Port, Bakauheni Port, Ciwandan Port, BBJ Bojonegara, BBJ Muara Pilu, to the Ketapang-Gilimanuk route.

Director General of Land Transportation Aan Suhanan said the port distribution was carried out to break the density and prevent the accumulation of vehicles at one point.

"We predict that there will be an increase in community mobility and vehicle volume, so there needs to be regulation. We have set regulations at a number of crossing ports to break the density and anticipate the accumulation of vehicles at one point," Aan said in an official statement, Monday, March 2.

Aan said that the arrangement was contained in the Joint Decree (SKB) regarding Road Traffic Arrangements and Crossing during the 2026/1447 Hijriah Eid Transportation Homecoming and Return Flow.

In the pre-mudik and peak mudik periods, Aan continued, passenger vehicles such as pedestrians, bicycles, and vehicles of groups II to VIa are prioritized through Merak-Bakauheni. Meanwhile, goods vehicles with a larger axis are directed to alternative ports such as Ciwandan, BBJ Bojonegara, and sea routes through Panjang Port and Krakatau Seaport.

A similar scheme is also applied during the return flow, both for the purpose of Sumatra and Java. Goods vehicles with three axles or more that are still operating during the restriction period will be directed to the buffer zone that has been prepared, including in the rest area of the Lampung and Banten toll roads.

Arrangements are also in place on the Java-Bali route, especially at Ketapang Port and Gilimanuk Port. In the period from 13 to 29 March 2026, crossings prioritize passenger vehicles, while large-sized goods vehicles are restricted and diverted to alternative piers or routes such as Tanjung Wangi-Gilimas and Jangkar-Lembar.

Aan appealed to the public and freight transport business actors to comply with the provisions that have been set in place for mutual smoothness.

"We have arranged the distribution of ports based on the axis and vehicle groups both in Merak-Bakauheni and Ketapang-Gilimanuk. We appeal to all people who will later return home to comply with these arrangements so that the return flow at the crossing ports does not occur. accumulation and run safely," he concluded.
